Car Cinema is the iPhone app that puts your IPTV playlists, live TV, media servers, files and YouTube on Apple CarPlay. Watch on the car’s display while you’re parked, listen through the car on the road, and cast to a Chromecast, AirPlay or smart TV at home.
New in 1.0.3 Video on iOS 27.2 in every car, Chromecast and smart TVs, MKV and AVI, a TV guide grid and picture in picture.
Video on the car’s display is for parked cars and passengers. On the road Car Cinema keeps playing the sound.
Park, press play, and the film is on the car’s screen — films, live TV and YouTube, on iOS 26.4 and later, iOS 27.2 included. On the move the sound keeps playing through the car and your lists stay on the display.
Short clips from real cars: a film on the CarPlay display, YouTube while parked, and a playlist in two taps.
Bring your own sources. Car Cinema ships with no channels or films of its own.
Add an M3U or M3U8 link, a file, pasted text or a QR code, or sign in with Xtream for live channels, films and series.
A guide grid with what’s on now and next, where your playlist provides one. Swipe to the next channel, or use the steering wheel buttons.
Sign in to your media server and play your films and series. Car Cinema starts where you stopped and tells the server how far you got.
Videos from Photos and Files, music too, and any link you paste: MP4, MOV, MKV or HLS.
Watch YouTube on the car’s display while parked. Open any site and Car Cinema lists the videos on the page and plays them in its player.
At home, cast to a Chromecast or Google TV, an Apple TV or AirPlay TV, or a Samsung, LG, Sony or Philips smart TV. The iPhone is the remote.
Your lists, favourites and live TV on the car’s screen. The steering wheel buttons step through channels, episodes and favourites.
Keep a film or a channel playing in a corner while you use other apps, and a mini player follows you around Car Cinema.
MKV, AVI, WebM, WMV, FLV and MPEG-TS play on the iPhone, and DASH streams are converted on the device as they play.
Audio language and subtitles, playback speed, 15-second skips, a sleep timer, and a controls lock for little hands.
Car Cinema works as a DLNA receiver: send a video to it from another app on your iPhone or from a device on your Wi-Fi.
No account, no analytics, no ads. Your playlists, favourites and history stay on your iPhone, and you can back them up to a file.
Paste a playlist link, sign in to Xtream, Jellyfin or Emby, or pick files. It takes a few seconds.
Car Cinema appears on the car’s screen with your lists. Pick a channel there or on the iPhone.
In a car that supports video in CarPlay, the picture shows on its display while you’re parked. Everywhere else the sound plays through the car.
Every iPhone gets 30 free minutes of playback — on the iPhone, in the car or on your TV. After that, pick a plan in the app. Payment, renewal and cancellation go through your Apple account.
Films, live TV and YouTube on the car’s display while parked — in every car with CarPlay, on iOS 26.4 and later. See it for your own car in the app: Settings → What plays where.

Not in Car Cinema. Netflix, Disney+ and other services protect their films with DRM, which only their own apps can play. Car Cinema plays your own sources: IPTV playlists, Jellyfin and Emby, your files, links and YouTube.
No. Car Cinema is a player. You add your own sources: a playlist from your TV provider, your Jellyfin or Emby server, files on your iPhone, or links you have the right to watch.
From the TV service you subscribe to, which usually gives an M3U link or an Xtream login, or from your own Jellyfin or Emby server at home. Read where to get a legal playlist.
HLS, MP4 and MOV play everywhere: on the iPhone, in the car and on your TV. On the iPhone Car Cinema also plays MKV, AVI, WebM, WMV, FLV, MPEG-TS and more, and converts DASH streams on the device as they play. Films protected with DRM can’t be played.
Yes. Tap the cast button and pick your TV: a Chromecast or Google TV, an Apple TV or AirPlay TV, or a Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips or other DLNA smart TV. The iPhone stays the remote, from the lock screen too.
You can try it free: every iPhone gets 30 minutes of playback, on the iPhone, in the car or on a TV. After that, Car Cinema Pro keeps it playing — monthly, yearly or a one-time purchase. Your library, TV guide and settings stay free.
Open Settings in Car Cinema, or the plans screen, and tap Restore purchases, signed in to the same Apple account.
No. Video on the car’s display is for parked cars and passengers, and Car Cinema asks you to confirm you’re parked before the picture shows. The law in many countries forbids a screen showing video in the driver’s view while the car moves.
